Boys & Girls Club Steak & Burger
February 21, 2007
MTSU’s highly successful first-year football coach, Rick Stockstill, will be the featured speaker at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Rutherford County’s Steak and Burger fund-raising event Tuesday.
Individual tickets for the event are still available at $150 each with 10-seat table prices starting at $1,500.
The annual main fund-raising event of the year for the Boys and Girls Clubs will start at 6 p.m. with a silent auction and dinner service at the Murfreesboro club facility at 820 Jones Blvd.
Stockstill will be featured at the 20th anniversary of the event that literally began with board members cooking hamburgers on home charcoal grills.
The event now draws several hundred supporters with food donated by Toot’s Restaurant. Reeves Sain Drug Store will provide desserts.
Stockstill led the Blue Raiders to a winning season, a share of the Sun Belt Conference championship and the school’s first ever top division NCAA bowl game, the Motor City bowl where MTSU lost to Central Michigan in a nationally televised contest on ESPN.
Tickets are available by calling the club at 890-2582.
