February 8, 2008
Murfreesboro, TN –Toot’s became a part of the winning team as they scored more than 3,700 dollars for the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties.
Toot’s of Murfreesboro and Smyrna did their fair share of scoring points with their customers by having two NFL players on site for the first half of the big game.
Minnesota Vikings, quarterback, Kelly Holcomb and former Dallas Cowboy, Super Bowl winner, Cory Fleming made appearances at the Murfreesboro and Smyrna Toot’s restaurants to raise money for the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties.
For a donation to the United Way, Holcomb and Fleming signed autographs and posed for pictures for the first half of the big game. All donations went directly to the United Way which helps over 20 agencies and programs providing services to residents in Rutherford and Cannon Counties. The Super Bowl bashes were not only a success for the United Way, but for Toot’s restaurants as well, selling a record of 18,300 wings between the two Rutherford County locations.
"We are very thrilled about the turnout that came out to support us and the United Way. It is an honor to be a part of something that you know will make a difference in so many people lives," said Toot’s owner, Wade Hays.
