TOOT'S ANNUAL AUCTION SET FOR JULY 4
June 26, 2007 - Murfreesboro, Tenn. - Join Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Kelly Holcomb and State Representative John Hood this Fourth of July at Toot's annual July 4th Bash and Fun Auction benefiting the United Way ofRutherford County.
Toot's Restaurant, Murfreesboro's home of Good Food and Fun, is hosting their 19th annual event beginning at 1 p.m. on July 4 at the Toot's Murfreesboro location.
Local businesses have donated more than 50 items to be auctioned, including:
- An 110cc Four Wheeler and an 110cc Motor Bike - donated by Rick's Amusement Co.
- Two tickets to the Titans vs. Packers on August 30, in a Luxury Suite. Dinner and beverages are included as well as a V.I.P. parking pass - donated by Ole South Properties, Inc.
- An autographed authentic Philadelphia Eagles jersey, signed in person by Eagles Quarterback Kelly Holcomb
- An American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. in the person of your choices' honor, complete with Certificate of Authenticity - donated by Rep. Bart Gordon
- A Tennessee state flag that flew over the State Capitol on Flag Day andsigned by Governor Phil Bredesen - donated by State Representative John Hood
"This is our 19th auction in 22 years of business," said Toot's owner WadeHays. "Without the support of this community and local businesses we would never be able to contribute what we have to the United Way. The July 4th auction represents what America is all about, neighbors helping neighbors."
Last year, the auction raised over $9,000 for the United Way. This year, Toot's anticipates writing a check exceeding the contributions of previous years.
"The United Way provides funding to organizations that help our community intimes of crisis," said Hays. "It is an organization that my employees and I feel very strongly about. That's why we do it year after year."
Toot's business hours on the holiday are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with the auction starting promptly at 1 p.m. The event is being conducted by Bob Parks Auctions and payment can be made on all winning bids by cash and all major credit cards on the day of sale.
